Default Fan Speed Control

The subject of controlling fan speed seems to be a forever ongoing topic of conversation. The following link is the beginning of placing some light on the subject. The intent is to have the reader (and there is plenty to read) come away with a better understanding of the basics of fan speed control. The writing is not a fan review, that should be made clear. What I am trying to convey is how things work. No more and no less.

I start with the basics and have worked from there. The article does not get into PWM but touches on it. The more complex means of fan speed control will follow if interest exist.

What I need to know is what you people want? I need your input, suggestions and of course critique.

1. Do you even have an interest in fan speed control and how it works?

2. Was the written material kept interesting enough?

3. Should we pursue PWM in depth with examples?

I would have posted this entire thing here but I would like some feedback before going further. Not to mention posting an entire web page would likely be a mess.

Have at it:

Fan Speed Control

Remember, constructive critique is sought.

Ron
