Thanks for all the Welcomes, People.
I arrive here, courtesy of an invitation from Tyreal, who has been most helpful to me in other forums.
I'm a Northern California kind of guy, most comfortable in boots or sandals depending on the season. My kids are all grown and launched successfully. I enjoy a bit of vegetable gardening, with a nice crop of Thai and Cayanne peppers to blend with my tomatoes and onions for some enjoyable salsa, as well as the ever present fire oil rendered for yummie stir-fry.
I'm no Techie, as many of you folks appear to be. Yet dozens of friends, family, neighbors, and co-workers treat me as if I were. I answer the kinds of questions and craft the kinds of solutions that you may have grown weary of responding to ages ago. Still, it's a service that knows no end of demand.
I spend most of my online time at the forums of PCPitstop and TomCoyote, where I owe much gratitude to the knowledgeable Members who have contributed to my informal education, and who have often saved my sorry self from diving into or repeating the mistakes that need to be avoided.
My few computers have been the products of dumpster diving adventures and I really don't know anyone who doesn't have better quality hardware than what I run. Yet mine run, and others come running for advice, tweaks, and rescues. Isn't it just that way, in life?

I'm glad to have found HardwareLogic, and have enjoyed lurking and reading stuff that I may or may not understand in a lightyear or two.

You've all been quite friendly and helpful and that's likely to keep me coming back.

So thanks in advance for all the education that I anticipate I am about to receive.

My name is actually Doug, though I've been known as dough in other forums, primarily because username doug has already been claimed.

I'm glad to be here. I hope to learn. And if opportunity arises, I hope to help when I can.

Doug
