Default Hello Ladies and Gentlemen

Hi im zip and how is everyone

Bad news though
I have a problem one which i need "Good" advice for
Recently i installed a new Duel layered Dvd drive in my hp Pavilion a1410y desktop pc
and i have been getting a blue "stop error" (an error in which a blue screen comes up with an error code forcing me to restart my computer)
This "stop error" usually occurs when i open an application
But i dont think that it is caused by me installing the new dvd drive because this did not start occuring until a while after i installed it ( a month or two)

any help out there?

Capper is correct, Zip. The technical information at the bottom of the BSOD screen is almost a requirement in order to discern what is wrong with your system. It should look something similar to this:

*** STOP: 0x00000096 (0x00000004, 0x805461F0, 0xB20000000, 0x00070F0F)

This was (and still is) a BSOD I keep getting on my main machine. Providing us this technical information will help in figuring out your problem.

If you can't write down the information fast enough because your system reboots after you get the BSOD, in WindowsXP try to get into Safe mode by rapidly pressing your F8 key. Once you're in Safe Mode, right click My Computer, select Properties, and click the Advanced tab. Go to Startup and Recovery and click the Settings button. Under System Failure, uncheck the option labeled Automatically Restart.

Reboot your computer, and the next time your notebook BSOD's, write down any information you can, ensuring you write everything down correctly. If you could also provide the error name, that would help as well. That is located at the top of the BSOD screen and should have text with underscores (_) separating the words.

STOP!!!!! Do not just download a program that claims that it can fix registry problems!!!!! Most of the ones that claim that are viruses

Give it a day or so, and we will help you through this problem.
