| I am in the process of working out some mods for my car audio amplifiers and am wondering if it is possible to wire in some computer case fans to help keep them runing cool. Anyone happen to know if any of these fans will run off a car battery or if i will need to look into something else? Any info would be much appreciated. MB... A8N32-SLI Deluxe. CPU.. | Yeah, typically the 12 Volt automotive system runs at about 13.6 Volts but the fans will run fine. They should help remove heat from the amplifiers heat sinks. Ron | ||||||||||||||

| Yeah, I just wanted to double check as the amp costed over 1k us so riping it apart for an idea that might fail could be a sad sight. I should be able to put 2 120mm intakes and 2 out on the other end so maximize airflow through the amp's, I just have to find some good fans now to order. Anyone know if there are fans that a slim in width or are they all pretty much the same width? Edit: Also some cold cathode lights might work of the same theory right? MB... A8N32-SLI Deluxe. CPU.. I don't see why a few cold cathode tubes couldn't be incorporated into the scheme of things. Ron | |||||||||||||||

| Well its a huge amp, that runs a 22 inch sub. I use it for car audio competitions and just trying to think of ways to make it a little more custom looking over other amps I see at the shows. And if the mods not only make it look better but work better as well would be well worth the time. Edit: Here is the sub http://www.cardomain.com/item/MTXT992222 and amp x3 http://www.cardomain.com/item/JBLBPX22001 MB... A8N32-SLI Deluxe. CPU.. Dual Core AMD Opteron 180 2.4GHz Ram.. | Now that is a serious amplifier! Not to mention a serious sub. Looking at the amp there should be a way to get airflow through it for asthetics. My guess is the majority of the heat is dissapated on the base of the aluminum housing. I can see where the right mod would be cool, especially from the competition aspect. (Never knew they had competions for such things). You could also likely come up with some cool mods using cold cathod tubes as you mentioned. I am still in awe of the friggin amp and sub! The power drain has to be incredible as noted by the AWG 4 main power connector. Ron | ||||||||||||||

| audio competition? like, who can have more distorted, crappier music? now if it was who could recreate a zeppelin concert the best out of their trunk i'd be all for it but i assume it's all that 'bee-bop' music, eh? and i'm also assuming it's not a standard car battery? | ||||||||||||||
