Default Project Jaded

Here we are with another project. While this one is in progress I finally have the time to give it a proper introduction. Many of my friends have liked what they have seen and wanted to follow with a work log. Please forgive me but my life has been a time consuming project itself. So far “Project Jaded” is about 2 months into and with some progress it will get done. Thank you and I hope you enjoy.

Project Jaded

The base of this case is the well known case Antec 900. The case has excellent angles and good airflow. The case will stay air cooled with low dbl fans. The color scheme is black and green with subtle color accents..not sure about that yet. A 17” LCD with a custom smoked acrylic housing will be mounted on the mobo side for extra viewing. I sat down and did a sketch of the general design, big switch for me since I usually do this in my head and change accordingly.

I didn't take any pics when I took the case apart, but you all know how that is done. Prepping and layout were my first steps. The front bezel is going to be tough to cut and get a dual sided dragonmeter in. I plan on frosted acrylic inserts up both pillars and Twizted to wire up a DM with 20 green LEDs.

While I was prepping the pillars, Twizted got bizy on the MM fan...22 green leds to light up the fan.....can we say overkill? Nahhhhh!

Stay tuned more coming...

damn! I need to do that with my fans! That looks badass

Is there a tutorial/explanation on DModz.net on how to do that? Specifically what LEDs (V & mA) to get and how to mount them (super glue?)

No tutorial..hmm yet..

You can allways hit up google with LED calculator. Or just ask us, just need to know how many LEDs you want and supplied voltage.

As far as holding the LEDs in, we just use hot glue. Gives time to adjust the LED before its set up.

Hehe, you will like the bottom them. My Bro Twizted etched a circuit to have a rotating light under the case. Of course with green LEDs in a chaser circuit. I will have to do a video of that one to really enjoy it.

For those that really get into this kinda thing, here is Twizted creating the chaser light for under the case.

I really like watching the layout process of a circuit, it's an art form all its own.

Like I said...I need to upload a video to really enjoy the light show. For now a still image will give you an idea.

I can't wait to see the finished results. When I actually start my 900, I'll be posting some of my mods on it. Bailey.

Can't wait to see that it's gonna be sweet. Dragonmodz lives. *rocks*
I always thought the 900 could look mean. :)

If there is a final hour, let's hope for a higher power. One by one, and two by two, I have ammo, what about you?

Not to be rude but Twizted wasn't the only one bizy...The top mesh for the fan is..ehm was.... that hex mesh. I pulled that out and am going to make acrylic fins for the top. To do this I had to fill in the tray and remove the i/o plate. The power and reset switches will be replaced with vandal switches.

Now why I was looking for a better filler to the top seams I went ahead and mounted the side LCD.
First we had to center the lcd in the panel.
Click the image to open in full size.
With the center marked, I fliped the moniter over to find the center on the mounting holes.

Now to pull it back off and trim the excess material off the edges....

A little at a time folks....still have more to go before I am up to date with the images and progress of this mod.
