| Modder-ator | OH MAN are you in for an adventure. I'm actually in the process of building myself a micro ATX cube style case out of acrylic (see the worklog here...) I got all of my acrylic from Delvies Plastics. They have great prices, no minimum order, and wonderful service. I've ordered from them twice (once by phone and once by internet) and I am very satisfied. As for suggestions on how to go about building something like this, well, I could probably write a book. The biggest thing I think you need to keep in mind is that acrylic (although good looking and easy to work with) is very fragile. It will scratch, crack, and break on you any chance it gets; very picky stuff. For the side panels and motherboard tray you probably want something a little thicker (like 3/16 or 1/4 inch), but for things like drive cages and other decorative parts, you can get away with 1/16" thickness material. You can do the usual cut, drill, tap, file, but remember that with the right tools, you can also bend and "weld" acrylic, so there can be more possibilities than you think. As usual though, if you have any questions, JUST ASK! ![]() |

| lol, i actually saw your mod thread on micro atx case... looking good btw, where is the update on it... i can buy the plexi glass here at our corner hardware store, at 5.99 per sqft... for 1/4 thick... and i'll probably use that... and for the MoBo tray, i'm thinking of premade aluminum tray for more durability so just in case the acrylic case brake the whole thing won't be messed up... i'm still on the sketch board on what will it look like... basically i just got bored with my coolmaster ammo so i'm planning this acrylic case... my big problem is i dont have any tools aside for my 18v drill and bunch of screw drivers... so i'm planing to buy a dremel tool too... i really can't wait to start building... i know what you feel, i just get all hyped up i don't want to got to work just buy all i need and start the project...
