| I will be doing a quick little HSF mod in the next few days. I'll be sure to post some pics and a little how to if anyone is interested when I'm done. I'm going to use a heat pipe stock HSF from a P4 on a AMD 2600+. I'm doing it all on my Abit NF-7. I think it should work out pretty nice. Bailey | ||||||||||||||

| Woot another NF-7! I have two of these and I must say they are one of the best XP boards ever made. ![]() I Like Watercooling. D-Tek Fuzion, MCP655, MCR220 | ||||||||||||||

| Interesting, just make sure you cut out part of the base on the heatsink so it doesn't hit the top edge of the socket on the socket A motherboards. I'll be looking forward to some pictures! ![]() | ||||||||||||||

| Sorry for the delay in this project. I've kind of been stumped with the mounting issue. I'm having a little problem trying to use the P4 mounting plate on the SKT A board. My main concern is the north bridge cooling fan. http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y10...9/100_0440.jpg http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y10...9/100_0441.jpg I'm wondering if it might be beneficial to try and salvage a different fan and heat sink for it. Or to just scrap the plastic mounting plate and just use the holes in the mobo with the legs of the new HSF?http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y10...9/100_0443.jpg I will try and get a few pics up shortly. BaileyP.S. My other concern is the issue of the plate being to tall for the PSU to fit properly. Last edited by Beetle Bailey; June 10th, 2007 at 18:43. Reason: Adding pics | ||||||||||||||

| I would ditch the plastic retention bracket and make your own metal adapter to fit the base of the heatsink and the holes on the motherboard. And damn, you've gotta work on your picture taking skills ![]() | ||||||||||||||
