Default I just ghetto-rigged up an iPod stand

I was super bored (was supposed to be doing long-term HW) and came up with this. Cutting the plastic was a royal pain and I have a whole bunch of plastic shards all over my room.

I used:
  • Two MiniDV Tape Cases (I have loads of these laying around)
  • Masking Tape
  • Scissors
  • Some white jiggy that comes with the iPod

And the pics:

Instead of having masking tape, eventually I will melt it together and paint it black (except for the white thingy that came with the iPod).

Only problem is that it won't support the iPod by itself. I need to do some more ghetto rigging to add a little backstand thing for the iPod to lay on.

Yeah, because I use it in my room setup (which consists of 9 year old stereo speakers that aren't amplified and the iPod). I might cut a hole in the bottom for the USB cable to come through and make a dock.

This is pretty nice. You aren't paying 300 bucks for a lame speaker stand thing......
Although U will need to plug in the headphone jack..... still looks sexy

Yeah, the headphone jack is a downer, but it still looks pretty good. I made it self stand now using more tape cases ... and tape. New pics:

I also need to weigh it below the white plastic thing so it stays upright better. It still self-stands, but it wobbles a tad bit.

Here's some pics in my room with the setup (hehe, my 9 year old speakers are Infinity's and they're really good).

As for plugging it in... Well, I have to cut a hole and raise the bottom part of the stand if I want to do it. It would be pretty sweet to have a dock made under $1. :)

I just realized. If I wanted to cut a hole on the bottom, I'd have to rig through 3 layers of plastic... great!
