| The time has come for Revenge of the Nerds!
| ![]() I’ve been doing some form of modding (computer related or no) for most of my life. To me, it's about the fun of creating. The end product is simply a by-product of the fun. Sometimes that product is useful. Sometimes that product is best described as an exercise. I never really understood folks who bought pre-modded cases. Where is the fun in that? That was before I tried to mod my house. - Chris "Mantabase" Adcock Read More... | ||||||||||||||

| HAHA, sounds like quite the project! I want to see some pics of the final result though ![]() As for going with the pre-mod or not, it can really go both ways, just depends on the person I suppose. I'm sure there are lots of people who love remodeling houses just as there are lots of people who love remodeling (modding) computer cases. The same can even be said about people who build their own computer or buy a computer in a box from Dell or something. In the end, I think it just comes down to how much knowledge and experience you have in the field you are working on (be it house remodeling, case construction, or computer hardware assembly). I think it's safe to assume you would much rather enjoy the journey of building your own computer than buy a Dell, but I'm sure I could find MANY MANY people who would very much disagree with you. We all have our likes and dislikes, and maybe you will have an opportunity for a small home repair or modification that you will feel more confident about doing yourself now instead of contracting the work out for someone else to complete. Heck, who knows, maybe you might get excited about doing another house mod later on down the road! ![]() | ||||||||||||||

| Lol - for some reason my wife didn't agree. That's a picture of the office. Now in the shop, I expect to have a bit of exposed framing. I think of it as free shelving Manta | ||||||||||||||

This summer if things go well I wany to extend and completely make over the office/computer room. Major renovation including removing a wall. The bitch is I will need to move all this stuff somewhere. I want to also move all the UPSs down the basement and eliminate their batteries and run with a few large deep discharge batteries. I actually have a plan (sort of almost). Oh, yeah, working tomorrow so I will get those aluminum sheets milled finally. May as well get something good done on a Saturday. Ron | |||||||||||||||

| LOL - Very useful. Well, I only do one once or twice a week - and they are very short. So I have to give them some kick. | ||||||||||||||
