| Relativity is fun!
| Well, I'm getting ready to start modding my computer, making it more unique, if you will. So far, I have my Antec 900, which I plan on painting a nice gloss red to contrast with the black mesh bits of the antec 900. Paintings going to have to wait til summer though, since it's still trying hard to snow out here in South Dakota, although I hear it's supposed to be in the 70's by sunday.... stupid weather. So far though, I'm going to order a set of scythe S-Flex fans (the high flow model, those are plenty quiet already), some red cold cathode tubes, and some more black mesh wire wrap, probably when I get home. No more led fans for me, lol. Now though... I'm gonna have to figure out how to best paint this case so that it's nice and durable.... powder coating would probably more durable, but I'd rather paint it myself... does anyone here have experience painting these? At first I was thinking acrylic paint, like I use for my models... but that could get really expensive, real fast, especially with out much I need to paint. Don't have much experience with automotive paints though.... that's gonna be the fun part of this, lol. I also plan on doing some creative dremel work to help with cable management, but I need to plan that out a bit better. e6300@3.33ghz|Asus P5k-e WiFi| 4gb OCZ ReaperX|2x 3870's|1.3tb storage space|MSI tv tuner. | ||||||||||||||

| ah yes I really do miss the SD weather... snow and 25º one day, 70º the next, 15º the next... I like variety... this Florida same temperature all the time bs bothers me... plus there is almost never any wind... maybe 10 days out of the year compared to 360 days there in RC ![]() Thanks HL and Corsair! | Yeah... it's nice and crazy out here. snowing and cold when I go to school, then it hits what felt like 40 (while still trying to snow... it was wound up being just a really cold stupid rain though), and then back to cold and snowy at the school again (while staying warm and rainy at my house, 5 miles away.). At least we'll be back up in the 70's in about 3-4 days though. e6300@3.33ghz|Asus P5k-e WiFi| 4gb OCZ ReaperX|2x 3870's|1.3tb storage space|MSI tv tuner. | ||||||||||||||

| Good luck with the painting man. I painted one case in my life and it will probably be the last I do myself. It is tricky business and will require a lot of patience. Read up a lot on case painting guides and get your facts straight before you start in. I think the biggest thing is tho make sure there is no dust in the air you are working in and that it is plenty warm enough for the paint to dry correctly. For durability, you might want to look into doing a clear coat to protect the paint. Also, using a good primer base might help too. | ||||||||||||||

| Paintings going to be fun, lol. I've done a fair bit of painting, both hand, spray, and airbrush, with my model kits, so it shouldn't be too bad.... it's just the fact that there is so much to paint that is going to be tricky. Definitely gonna be time consuming, but it should be worth it. On a related note, I'm hoping change a few things with this my computer for this build too... I'm trying to get a nice red abit fatal1ty board and a 2nd bfg 8800gt off of ebay, right now that's looking to run me less than 100 bucks. I'm also thinking about getting a little more powerful processor than my e6300, but that's definetly farther down the line. Now if only newegg would get that 4x2gig mushkin redline ram back in stock.... I have't been able to find that stuff anywhere! e6300@3.33ghz|Asus P5k-e WiFi| 4gb OCZ ReaperX|2x 3870's|1.3tb storage space|MSI tv tuner. | ||||||||||||||

| Well, I got my mobo, 45 bucks before shipping. Hopefully everything is good with it and I won't have to rma it for a good one or anything lame like that. Now I just have to cross my fingers on that 8800gt I was looking at.... e6300@3.33ghz|Asus P5k-e WiFi| 4gb OCZ ReaperX|2x 3870's|1.3tb storage space|MSI tv tuner. | ||||||||||||||

| If you want it really perfect, maybe you should get it powercoated... but that can be really expensive. Looks like that read theme is coming along nicely though! You should have grabbed a DFI Blood Iron...
