Default HP Pavilion dv6500t S.E. Notebook Review

Hewlett-Packard is a name that is synonymous with OEM computer systems that range from home based computing solutions to business and enterprise-class systems costing hundreds of thousands of dollars. What many computer users do not realize, however, is that among the other big name OEMs available to choose from such as Dell, Gateway, and Sony, is that Hewlett-Packard continues to enjoy a surging popularity for their computing solutions.

Nice review, as always!

I've heard from many sources that HP was making some good laptops, so it's great to an objective review of one of them. (Helps those of us who associate the HP name with clunky, noisy desktops running Celeron processors.)

Thanks,

Carl

BTW, link to review at ReviewPub doesn't work.

excellent review Dave! i'll definitely give this a look as i'm in the market for a school laptop.

azianai - you should definitely do a review of your laptop or any of your computer components. we've still got a user guides/reviews forum and i believe we're still giving out newegg gift certs for the best ones each month.

Yeah i'll drop a review on it, its time to reformat that baby anyway, been 7 months with no issues, but i like keeping my stuff tidy. i'll do a factory recovery to all bloatware and write up a review =) Then i'll reformat again and install clean Ultimate =D

Before I purchased my laptop (HP dv6500t Special Edition), I spent probably six to eight months researching them. During that time, I learned quite a bit about notebooks and notebook technology. I also learned how boutique sellers like Alienware, Hypersonic, and Falcon Northwest use "whitebooks" made by companies like Clevo and Compal to build their laptop models then (over)charge tremendous amounts of money for them.

In the end, I felt HP had the best deal around, and combined with attractive upgrade options and coupon deals, made the purchase decision an easy one to make.

Looks like ReviewPub removed the review from their site. I've fixed the link by replaced it with one from NotebookReview. The link is for the standard dv6500t non-Special Edition laptop, but it's basically the same laptop sans the "Influx" imprint finish and a few inclusions in the accessory bundle.

Thank you for all the positive comments. I appreciate you guys taking the time to read the review and respond to it. =)
