Default Viewsonic RMA

I had originally called 2 months ago to get an RMA on my Optiquest Q19wb 19" widescreen and then the next day it stopped acting up... so it was kind of hit or miss the past few months and then today it started acting up again really bad so this time I called them again to see if that old RMA number was good and they said the option is still open but they have a new RMA system and he issued me a new RMA #... so I am back to using 2 17" CRTs for now until I get the 19" widescreen back. I will report back the next time I hear something.

Thanks HL and Corsair!

Viewsonic RMA used to be a bit "hectic" for me in the past because I had to send my stuff somewhere in Ontario (ever try sending a 19" CRT?) but not too long ago they got us some kind of office 20 minutes drive from here where you can simply deposit your RMA and they get their testing done and give you another product/repaired product once they're done testing it. It's pretty cool.

If there is a final hour, let's hope for a higher power. One by one, and two by two, I have ammo, what about you?

It arrived there according to UPS tracking on Mar 19th and so far have not heard anything from them. I figure it will take a few days for them to take a look and get back to me. I am planning on sending an email or calling them this next week.

tried sending emails... no answer....
tried calling... techs had no info
then today I have it show up on my door... opening now so I am not sure if this was a refurb, new one, my same one fixed or what the case is...

edit1: yep its my same old one.... will be hooking it up in a little bit to check it out...

edit2: yep they fixed the backlight or whatever the problem was. it would have been nice for them to send out a notification email or call or something to let me know what was fixed but as long as it works... I am happy.

They just made sweet electric love to it. That's why it didn't work, it was just sexually frustrated.

lol drew

it does look like there is some dirt or something behind the right side of the screen but it is not really enough to worry about...

edit: so much for that idea.. got it setup on my main system, changed the resolution to the standard 1440x900 and BOOM, my start bar is missing off the bottom as if it was trying to display it as 1440x920. I tried 1280x800 and same thing.
I can click the Start button and it is there and everything on the taskbar functions properly but its just hidden off the screen. Also at these resolutions, everything looks like crap at either widescreen resolution. It looks like it is trying to use 1500x950 shrunk down to 1440x920 (opposite effect of how 1024x768 looks stretched).

Right now I have to use 1360x768 just to be able to use this monitor and the start button/taskbar.
I tried new drivers, old drivers, tried to set it as plug and play monitor, nothign works. Plugged it into the AthlonXP system here which was working an hour before this and now the same thing is happening there as well..... damn cheap Viewsonic... I knew I should have spent a few dollars more on a HannsG or something else.

Finally a week later they email me the UPS shipping label so I can send it back to them on THEIR dime. I had to pay for it myself the first time because i was never offered the shipping label. This time it took 3 different calls over the past week and a half to get them to send this to me...
So far their support and repair services are not looking so good....

Yea, I hear ya there Screwballl!!! That isn't looking very good so far

Once I had to RMA a Samsung monitor, and they were awesome about it!
Gave me a link for the shipping label, and had my next one within 2 weeks

I hope they just send a new replacement instead of trying to fix this one. Or an alternative model that is not prone to problems like this.
Oh well I have a 3 year warranty so they have plenty of time to fix it (must be their way of thinking)...
