Default Ultra Products/Tiger Direct

When my PSU was about six months old, it suddenly died. Test showed dead 12v. rail. Called Ultra at about 8 am and described problem. They gave me RMA number and phone number to call Tiger. I called Tiger Direct about fifteen minutes later. Gave them my name. Guy said he already had the RMA number since Ultra had just sent it to him. He'll ship out the new one immediately; needs authorization to temporarily charge to my credit card until they receive the defective unit.

"When we get the defective unit, we'll credit your account for the new unit plus whatever you paid for shipping." ("Just wait until the new PSU arrives. I'll have the shipping label in the box for you.")

"Is there anything else I can help you with?" "Not really, unless you can figure out what's wrong with my piece of junk laptop..." (Chuckle.) He did! Said it was slow that morning and he'd be glad to help.

Next day, about 3 pm, new PSU arrives including shipping label and printed RMA authorization. One week later, credit card account reimbursed for amount of PSU and shipping. The end.

Now that's service, and why, unless the price is too high compared to Newegg, I still buy from Tiger Direct.

Carl

Good to know that TigerDirect is good that way. I haven't been doing much buying from them lately, mainly because the CPU prices used to be WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY too high.

I just hate rebates so I tend to not buy from them at all.

Thanks HL and Corsair!

I don't like rebates either... from anyone. That doesn't keep me from buying from Tiger because they still have some pretty cheap prices on stuff even w/o rebate. Got my Gateway laptop from them actually... only $600! :D
