Default Seagate RMA

While I never actually contacted support itself, I did have to RMA a drive back to Seagate. It had a 5 year warranty, and after about 6 months it was showing signs of failure. I used the automated RMA process on their site to send it back. Basically all I had to do was enter the serial and part number and I was on my way. After that I had the option to upgrade to a higher capacity drive, I decided 160GB just wasn't enough to compliment my 300GB Maxtor and opted for a 500GB Hard disk. The replacement hard disk is a remanufactured drive, which I wasn't really to thrilled over, as *upgrading* to it would cost me about the same as buying the same drive new from newegg. Oh well. I actually messed up packaging my drive, as I used an anti-static pouch, packing peanuts and bubble wrap, when it asked to use an anti-static pouch and 2-inch thick foam rubber. That could have voided my warranty, however they were totally cool about it and sent me my replacement drive promptly. Overall, my RMA experience with Seagate went well
