| T-Rex | Just got to check my step-up program and I have 7 days left to step-up. I paid my 8800GT SC $282.00 US back in December. I was thinking of stepping up to a 8800GTS 512, which over at eVGA step-up program is worth $379.99. Then I have $30.00 for FedEx International. In your opinion, would this be worth it? $108.00 is the final cost of this upgrade. I have a Zalman VF1000LED, and though I haven't googled yet, anybody knows if this will fit if I decide to upgrade? Thanks |

| The 8800GT and the G92 8800GTS use the same PCB but the 8800GTS has a slightly beefier VREG area. So if it fits the Zalman fits the 8800GT, it'll fit the G92 8800GTS. I personally don't think it's worth it, but that's just IMO. | Honestly if you're not satisfied with the cooling solution, that'll be the main reason to go for the G92. 2nd if you're like me and gaming on a 24 inch LCD, the GT just doesn't keep up in the FPS at 1920X1200. I love my GTS, and i tested like 3 GT's b4 just sticking with my old G80 320 GTS till the G92 came out. |

As for keeping up at 1920x1200, it's doing alright IMO. Don't expect maxing out everything, but then again I'm use to that. $107.00 seems like quite a big amount of money for what it gives, I'm just not sure, hence why I created this topic. :) | |

| Packers Fanboi | I'd wait and see if that's the case... the performance boost you'd get from a gts over a gt doesn't seem to warrant the 100 bucks, at least to me. ![]() e6300@3.33ghz|Asus P5k-e WiFi| 4gb OCZ ReaperX|2x 3870's|1.3tb storage space|MSI tv tuner. |

| T-Rex | I know, which is why I'm not quite sure about that move. It doesn't seem like a very good "bang for the buck" action to take. Maybe if I was a 8600 owner then it would look better to upgrade to a 9600GT, considering the ridiculously low price of them. Unfortunately (maybe?) i'm a "top tier" video card owner by having a 8800 series, and at this point money is starting to lose it's value it seems. |
