Default What is a good set of speakers for a good price?

Yeah my computer has OK speakers, but i want some awesome logitech speakers with a good woofer. Anyone have any ideas. I'm quite limited in resources (money) so i would like something relatively cheap; under 100 dollars.

There are quite a few good 2.1 speaker kits out there.

This kit is right under 100 dollars and should be pretty good: http://www.anitec.ca/?mode=product_d...id=2770&mcid=8

Im not sure about this but it might be good too: http://www.anitec.ca/?mode=product_d...id=1466&mcid=8

Take a look around. Don't confine your choices to logitech only, there are lots of good companies out there.

If you want to take another route, you can go down the Headphone Path.

Take the Zalman Surround Sound Headphones for example: http://www.anitec.ca/?mode=product_d...id=4824&mcid=8
These will give you pretty good sound and i have only read good reviews about them. Look for Sennheiser headphones, they are a good brand.

If you decide to buy headphones, take a look at this thread: http://www.ocforums.com/showthread.php?t=383298

A good read for anyone who is considering to buy a pair of headphones.

And as always, read reviews on the product you are considering before you buy it!

The Logitech Z-640 5.1 surround sound speakers are discontinued (replaced by the X-530) but they are still good speakers. I have them right now and they are not the greatest, but definately worth the $60 I paid for them back in the day. If you can find them anywhere they are probably very cheap by now and would be a good buy. If not, the X-530's are your next best bet for an entry level surround sound speaker set from Logitech.

I am only pushing the 5.1 setup because you have the DFI LanParty NF4 Ultra-D and it has a very good on-board surround sound audio solution and I think you should take advantage of it. Plus, it's really not too hard to find a 5.1 speaker setup for less than $100...

Phillips makes a 5.1 speaker setup (MMS460) that boasts 160W of total power (compared to only 70W on the X-530's) for $80.

The Creative Inspire T5400 speaker set also looks promising with 74W of total power and only $65.

Of course, these are all american prices, so you'll have to do your own price searching. Sorry, I don't know my way around the Canadian stores... :(

i really like the sound of both of these speakers. theyre great. of course the 2300s are way more powerful than the 3300's but try traveling with an 8" sub in your suitcase. it isnt gonna happen
