Default Western Digital Hard Drives

I bought this Western Digital Caviar SE 160GB Hard Drive from Best Buy back in Feb. intending it to be the fore front of my build but after doing a diognostics check on it today it was defective so I called WD to get a replacement I give WD for their support but here is my problem the other hard drive I have is out of my Dell (which crashed and burnt) and is also a Western Digital Caviar 80GB I was wondering if It'll work with anything besides a Dell motherboard if so how Do I erase whats on it?

Sure it will work/

Plug it in the PC and simply go through the Windows XP(or Vista) install process. Setup will format the drive clean..
