Default TV Tuners

Has anyone had experience with internal vs. external TV tuner/capture cards? Is one better than the other?

Default Re: TV Tuners

the external tend to use USB2.0 which is a much slower connection than the internal PCI or PCIe....
but otherwise if you take 2 very similar units, they will perform almost the same, with the internal having a much faster response to everything

Thanks HL and Corsair!

Depending what you want to do, just watch TV/HDTV? Or connecting gaming systems/camcorder/etc. I know a lot of people like Hauppauge's USB TV Tuners.

Just spoke to the techs at Hauppauge - they recommended their 1600 or 1800, but said there's some problem with 4 gigs of ram, which I have. "3 gigs good, 4 gigs bad", or something like that.
