| Since i dont really have a better place to put this question, this part should do. So i was wondering if it is better to have an LCD TV or a regular Tube TV? To put this in terms of size, its for a dorm room and sorta placed high up. Id like to know cause the tv i currently have isnt too good, its nice and big, but thats about it, i think its like 20-30 years old and buzzes when any white light is on the screen. As for screen size the shelf cant take anymore than a 20-21 inch diagonal screen. Im mosly going to be gamin on it and occassionaly watching football. so thoughts? | I saw one of these at Sams club not long ago......it was under $300. I found a link to it somewhere else. Maybe you can find it cheaper. http://www.pcconnection.com/ProductD...ourceID=k40132 Commodore 64 overclocked into outerspace ![]() | ||||||||||||||

| Well with space issues LCD tv all the way but if your budget is tight you may have to go regular old tv. | ||||||||||||||

| Another thing to consider....the LCDs at the bottom end of the price spectrum are risky buys....make sure you do your research before you spend the money INTEL QX9650 ASUS Maximus Extreme 4GB DDR3-1600 Sapphire HD 3870X2 Danger Den Torture Rack (Custom W/C) Seagate 750GB HDD BFG ES 800W PSU | ||||||||||||||

| Just to add to these comments, you have to remember that the viewing angles are limited on LCD's. So if it is placed up high and you are down low looking up at it or you are anywhere else besides straight on, the colors and images will start to get all funked up (as I'm sure you are already aware of). I just wanted to point that out to you. I don't think an LCD TV would be good for a dorm room where you will inevitibly be looking at the TV at an angle. As everyone else pointed out, you will probably just be better off buying a regular CRT television. Or if you really wanted to save space, you could get a PCI TV Tuner of some kind and just use that nice new 19" LCD monitor you have ![]() | ||||||||||||||

| Hauppauge PVR150 is the TV tuner I have in my system. If you have cable TV in the dorm that would be a nice option. It has all the software to play......record........pause......etc. Can be bought for under $100. Commodore 64 overclocked into outerspace ![]() | ||||||||||||||
