| I"m adding another 500 gig storage drive to my p5w dh deluxe board. I"ve got two dvd burners, 1 150 raptor as my main drive and a 320 segate for storage. question is....is there any particular slots I need for the dvd burners and the two extra storage drives? I know to plug the main drive into "sata 1". I've also got sata 3, sata 4, ez raid 2 and ez raid 1. I'm not going "raid" with the storage drives. thanks! | I'm Evil | You'll have to read the manual on the board.......different boards react differently....I know the P5E3 Deluxe makes you use the SATA 1,2, or 5 port as the boot port. | thanks for the reply Capper. Yes, I've got the manual in front of me...and being still new at this, I can't make heads or tails of it. All it talks about is how to "raid". Originally I had the c drive in sata 1...dvd 1 and 2 on sata 3 and 4 and my seagate on ez raid 1 port. I was just wondering since I've got two storage drives now...would it try to make me go raid if I plugged the other storage drive on the ez raid port. | I'm Evil | Ok, you actually have three different RAID controllers on that board. Unless you are running a RAID setup, it isn't going to make much difference. Personally, I'd use the INTEL ports for the HDD and the JMicron or Silicon Image ports for the optical drives. | I take it the intel ports are the sata ports and the jmicron/ silicon image ports are the 2 ez raid ports?
