| This is my first SATA HDD configuration. I've noticed that on my tool bar at the bottom right there is an icon that allows me to "safely remove hardware". I've only ever noticed this icon on other computers when a camera, voice recorder, etc.. are attached via a USB port. Is this normal for a SATA HDD? | From what I know, this is caused by the sata drive being hot-swap and cant be turned off :(.. I have it for my external dvd drive, laptops cd drive, a few other devices that dont ever get removed... its really a pain. | ||||||||||||||

| That really isn't a normal thing, not really sure why it shows up there. Do you have a card reader or any other type of internal USB device hooked up to your motherboard on the internal USB headers? | ||||||||||||||

| The Final Word
| no, actually it is perfectly normal. If your board and drive support hot swapping that icon will show up there. INTEL QX9650 ASUS Maximus Extreme 4GB DDR3-1600 Sapphire HD 3870X2 Danger Den Torture Rack (Custom W/C) Seagate 750GB HDD BFG ES 800W PSU | ||||||||||||||

| I have it too. I just ignore it. It moves to the inactive group anyway so its no big deal. ![]() I Like Watercooling. D-Tek Fuzion, MCP655, MCR220 | ||||||||||||||
