| You can pay upto about £20 for a Razer mouse mat. That is alot of money for something so insignificant. I have never used 1 personally and dont believe a mouse surface is really that important. Just as long as you have a mat your alright, right? What are you thoughts? | There are many better "Gaming-Grade" mouse pads you can get for a lower cost. Steelseries is my favourite company so I am a bit biased. Their pads are usually pretty cheap. ![]() I Like Watercooling. D-Tek Fuzion, MCP655, MCR220 | ||||||||||||||

| I just use whatever cheap one I happen to pick up... for someone that does some light gaming and websurfing, there is no need to spend extra money on crazy mouse pads. In a production or industrial environment I can see the need but not for everyday usage. I have been using regular mouse pads with my optical and laser mouse for some time now without a problem. ![]() Thanks HL and Corsair! | I bought an eXactMat. I love it. Used to have an aluminum designer pad that cost me a little fortune too. I don't think it's "insignificant". Your mouse gets much more precise with a good mousepad and besides it feels more like it's gliding. It's always up to you, but rarely you will see pro gamers go without a mat. Besides, it's something you can carry around and you always have the same terrain to play on. Sometimes (often enough) when you go to lan parties you'll find that the tables are scratched or just not a good surface to play on (rugged plastic ones being the worse in my opinion). ![]() If there is a final hour, let's hope for a higher power. One by one, and two by two, I have ammo, what about you? | ||||||||||||||

| I think it all just depends on what you are used to. Some people prefer the hard surface, so they are forced to pay a premium for the decent hard surface pads. Other people like cloth surfaces, but only like certain thicknesses. Some people like the giant sized pads, while others could care less and don't even use one (just the surface of their desk). After using cheap hard surface and cloth surface pads, I prefer the cloth. I am currently using the Xtrac Pro because it is very thin and reasonably priced. Not the most durable thing in the world, but it is cheap enough to be easily replaced after a few years without feeling too bad. | ||||||||||||||

| I am currently doing a review on a great mousepad, the review should be out in a week or two. Check back often, and buy some of Cappers' stuff. -1 I would rather read a NewEgg review than a [H] review | ||||||||||||||

| I was using the surface of my sofa for a few months, then splashed out £1 on a cloth mat off eBay and found a improvement in movement but not in accuracy. I was eager to find out whether an improvement in accuracy was found in a higher end mat. Will there be and improvement worth the extra money spent, considering I am a casual gamer.
