I don't know how to put this, but, I'm kind of a big deal.

Default Razer Copperhead Mouse Review...

It's all about the tools of the trade, and when it comes to competitive gaming, one of the most essential tools is the mouse. No, a rodent can't compensate for an underpowered rig, but it can offer a significant advantage, or disadvantage, depending on your mouse of choice. Razer has built a living on this philosophy, and today we look at their flagship pedigree, the Copperhead. - Paul Lilly

Good review :thumleft:

I was actually about to ask Rich if we were going to start venturing into the mice/keyboard world when I saw this article in PHPCow :P

Looks like a nice mouse. It looks really cool with the green glow.

Nice mouse not nice price tag. I think I'll just stick with my logitec mouse.
Oh yes good review but I would expect no less from someone that bleeds ink. :P

We'll review just about anything, so long as it's PC related and we feel there's interest.

With regards to Razer, they have some cool peripherals aside from mice too. In early September, I'll be posting a review of their Barracuda gaming headphones ---> LINK

The copperhead is amazing, better than the G5 i'm using at the moment in my opinion. Too sad I lost it somewhere. =/
Thanks to the onboard memory you can have your config follow you. :D
I prefer a cord over none, so it's just a matter of opinion for that. When I switched to my G5 my first thought was "whoa, this rodent is huge!" because the copperhead is flat compared to it, more like OEM logitech mices.
Good review.

Awesome, thanks for the review Paul.

I have to ask about the side buttons though. I have an MX-512 and can't see myself buying another mouse without the side buttons now (since I use them so much now). But the problem I have is that if I move my hand from my keyboard to the mouse too fast and my thumb hits the side button (which is programmed for "Back" while browsing the internet) it will kick me back out of the e-mail or post I was typing and sometimes I will loose the whole thing. I get SOOOO pissed when that happens! SO, long story short, how sensitive are the side buttons and are you likely to accidentally hit them a lot?

You know, the same friggen thing happens to me with my G7, except in a slightly different scenario. I'll have a long, detailed post typed out and when moving the cursor via the mouse, I'll accidentally click and move back a page.

On the Copperhead, it takes a bit of pressure to click the side buttons, making an accidental click highly unlikely. They're also very slim, as in low profile, compared to Logitech's, which have somewhat raised buttons. And finally, the raised rubber grip along the side is what your thumb would most likely end up hitting everytime you moved from the keyboard to the mouse.

Personally I hate the wheel on G5/G7, it's too high for my taste and takes a while to get used to. It's also a bit too sensitive, so when you click the wheel sometimes it will roll up or down, changing your weapon. :( That render the wheel click a bit useless for me in games, but I can map the zoom to the left side button instead.

I never have liked side buttons. Like Paul said, it's easy to go back :( So I like to stick with M$ mice I'd like to get one where I can change the DPI though, but I don't want any side buttons.

I don't like the scroll wheel on the G7 either, but it's because of the tilt function. It took a long while to get the hang of simply clicking instead of tilting it to one side or the other, which it seems to want to do.

Overall though, I still prefer the G7 to the Copperhead. It's a preference thing, but I'm just not digging how low the buttons sit on the Copperhead, though I'll continue to use it and see if my longterm opinion changes.
