| Hi there folks, the problem is this my brother was at his pc one day and went to shut it down it shut down as normal. Then he switched it on to get a file got it and went to shut it down now he says when he shut it down the monitor instantly turned off but the pc was still on. After a while he switched it of by holding the on button, but now when he turns it on dere is no signal output to the monitors, i came round and found he had disconnected them and what not but i also found one of the pins from the monitor cable has gone missing. Now i tried using another monitor but same thing no picture, Here is the specs of the pc: Gigabyte Geforce 8400 gs (silent cooling) Core 2 Duo E6550 Gigabyte GA-G31MF-S2 Also ... help?! lol Project Luxray Complete |

| The missing pin is pin 9 and it is supposed to be missing on a VGA monitor cable. Since you tried a few monitors I think we can rule out a monitor as the problem. Will the machine boot in Safe Mode? Tapping F8 during a boot cycle? If the OS disk is placed in an optical drive, will the system boot from it showing video? Ron |

| Colonel Calamity | did the video card get bumped out of its slot inside? other than what Ron touched on, thats the only other thing I can think of. ![]() Thanks HL and Corsair! | Check BIOS settings? Maybe try the card in another system if one is available? Reinstall drivers? I was going to suggest checking external power connections, but that doesn't seem to be a thing on this card... If it's not fixed, then don't broke it! |
