Default Possible HDD issue

When I powered on today, I had two odd things happen.

1) Before Windows started, I got that little admin username/pw box that wanted me to sign in. I don't even have Windows configured for a administrative login! But I tried anyway to enter my name, but the system would not accept any input, and just beeped at me.

2) The second time, I got a Blue screen message that said something about the C: drive and "Disk needs to be checked for consistency". There was some other stuff I think, but the system said it recommended running DSKCHK. It ran the check, but I don't think it found any issues.

I powered on again this evening a while ago, and didn't have either of these things happen, so maybe it was nothing. But I'll have to see if they happen again.

If it's not fixed, then don't broke it!

When you ran DSKCHK the OS fixed any issues and errors automatically so sounds like you need to run a Defrag also.
Might want to run a benchmark utility to see how your C:\ Drive is doing, will tell you if it might be failing or not. Then you can make a back up if it is failing and change the HDD. Good luck

I ran HDDTach, on an 8MB and 32MB test, and these are the results, though I can't tell if this means a bad drive or not.
