Didn't want to hijack anybody's thread with this. I just want to know the easiest way to check old hard drives of data on them, short of re-attaching them to a system. I have 4 or 5 sitting around, but I'm not sure how I can go about hooking them up to see what's still on them. Thanks for any help, Redleg ![]()

Short of actually connecting them to another system I don't know of any way to actually "See" what data may be on them. Ron

I don't know of any ways to check data on a hard drive without attaching it. One of those USB to IDE/SATA adapters might make the job a lot easier though. Opteron 64 165--1.5GB DDR--ECS KA1 MVP(thanks HL!)--x1800GTO 256MB--Seagate 320GB SATA--Antec 550 Watt--Antec P180

yeh i was gonna say a usb hard drive enclosure? Dont forget to check weather the drives are IDE,SATA or a different connection as you will need an enclosure to suit.
