| OLEDs are not new, but they are definitely the future as far as I can see. The technology still has a ways to go before prices are reasonable and sizes are large enough to appeal to most people, but it is definitely a step up from traditional LCD technology with CCFL backlighting. Even LCDs with LED backlights can't compete with OLEDs. The famous Optimus Maximus keyboard uses OLED technology to make little mini displays on each key. | ||||||||||||||

| yay!!! 11" display for $2500, sign me up for 10 of them... ![]() this will be great once they hit mainstream larger PC and TV monitor replacement and at a much more reasonable price... like SSD hard drives... ![]() Thanks HL and Corsair! | I heard about these on the Gadget show (Channel 5) last week. They look ultra bright. Maybe to bright. They use organic molecules, so basically, you display is alive. The big advantage is, there is no need for back lighting and thus you get an super thin display. | Oled has been around for a long time ... but production of an actual usable PC monitor is very recent.
