320GB Perpindicular recording drive!! Should be here wednesday. I really didn't want to spend anymoer money on my comp, but my 80GB secondary drive is now full so i had no choice.
I just wish my stupid old mobo supported SATA2, but whatev, the seek times alone will make a big difference!

Aslo, does anyone have a short SATA cable? I'm talking like 6" because I had to order a 16" one and that's WAAAY too long.

Yeah, that's a nice drive, though I do have one question. Why would a 3.5" 320GB drive even need to use perpindicular recording? I mean, it's not like they couldn't reach that capacity before Seagate developed PRT.

the higher the density the faster it can read/write access.

Drew: What you can do with that long SATA cable is, get a zip-tie, and the SATA cables 'fold' nicely, so you can fold up any slack and then tie it tight with a zip-tie or two.

Really you shouldn't fold any kind of cable!!! It will hender the signal strength or stop responding all together

Hence why he said 'fold'. I'm pretty sure he didn't squeeze them enough for a kink to form. On another note, SATA cables are pretty easy to fold yet solid, so you can get some pretty tight loops without hindering the signal.

If there is a final hour, let's hope for a higher power. One by one, and two by two, I have ammo, what about you?
