Angry My Dodgy CD drive....

...Just cracked my starcraft disc straight down the middle. Think the drives broken?

WOW, that sucks man, I think it's safe to say the drive is probably not worth using again. Unless you think the CD had stress marks in it from something else?

I've got a copy of Starcraft (with orignial box and manual and other stuff) I don't play anymore, I'll send it off to you for cheap. Just PM me if you are interested

ohh sorry i must have missed that bit. I think the CD was fine, i was using it just yesterday for a couple of hours. The drive seems to have made marks on other disks but they still all work. I'll return this drive tonight, lucky its still in warrenty.

I think a saw something about this on Mythbusters.......... Something about hi-speed drives spinning so fast they shatter or crack CD's......... If you have one of those x48 (is that the highest speed?) speed drives, get a lower speed drive as a replacement.
