| I've got a new 8800GTX. For budget reasons I am currently constrained to my 5-year old) HP 1903 (1280x1024). It works well, though, but given the GPU horsepower I'm really looking for something more. For now I'm thinking of buying another used 19" display with the same resolution. I'm certain that the card will support an additional display, but does anyone know if I can make the two monitors into one bigger display? I've got three screens at work set up to 4800X1200 and it'd be cool to get something similar at home (at least until the budget affords a single, larger monitor). | ||||||||||||||

| When you connect the two monitors to the 8800GTX, you will have to configure how you want them set up in the nVidia driver control panel. There are options to have it clone or span the two screens. Clone will do just that, display the same thing on both screens. Span will essentially act like how you want it, a 2560x1024 resolution screen (but it will be across two physical monitors obviously). It might not be called "span" in the control panel, but it is definitely possible. | ||||||||||||||
