Default Logitech G7 Cordless Mouse Review

Logitech set out to offer the gaming community a high performing cordless mouse without the drawbacks typically associated with such a device, and the final result is the G7. Is it enough to win over the hearts of competive gamers? HardwareLogic has the answer...

Nice, prior to this review, I had totally missed this mouse's launch! LOL, I didn't even know it existed :oops:
Looks like I nice one though. Lag and weight are prettymuch the sole reasons I have never owned a coordless mouse. But since you say it has no lag, that leaves me with one question... How heavy is it compared to like an MX512 or something?

Subjective
Heavier than a corded mouse, but noticeably lighter than the cordless MX700 (and I would assume the MX1000 as well). I should also point out that thanks to the large PTFE feet, the G7 physically glides more smoothly than the MX700.

Objective
You're in luck! We have a food scale laying around, so I weighed three different Logitech mice:
  • MX518 (corded) = just over 3 ounces
    G7 = 4 ounces
    MX700 = just over 5 ounces

Awesome! Thank you so much! I have an MX512 right now and I think it's too heavy, so I guess I'll have to look past the G7 :(
Maybe someday I'll have the pleasure of finding a 1.75 ounce coordless mouse! :lol:

I would love to see this mouse side by side comparison with the Razer 2000 DPI corded mouse.

I think quite a bit of gamers are more after the feel of the mouse and accuracy then the wireless ability.

The Copperhead? I haven't used one myself, but from looking at the specs, I wouldn't expect either one of these to significantly outperform the other. The polling rate is really the only noticeable paper-spec advantage:

As for the feel, the Copperhead is ambidextrous, while the G7 is designed for right-handers. For further reading, you might be interested in what BoxGods had to say. They compared the Copperhead to the G5 (the G7's wired sibling) and you get the perspectives of more than one reviewer ---> LINK
