Default LITEON SHW-160P6SU

Be sure to read Rich's review of this fine piece of hardware!!!

Today HardwareLogic takes a look at a unique, and quite useful external drive from LITEON, the SHW-160P6SU EZ-DUB external DVD+/-RW Drive. With easy one step file backup and disk copy, an excellent software bundle, and the great combination of LITEON quality and pricing the LITEON EZ-DUB might be just the back up solution you are looking for.

Not my best work to be honest. It was incredibly hard to find a perspective to write from which people could relate to.
If you burn a lot of disks (like I do) or want an inexpensive backup system...it doesn't get much better than this

The only real advantage I can see to a external dvd drive is the fact that I could take it to someones house that doesn't have a dvd drive. What for I'm not sure but otherwise I like my drives contained in my PC. Now a HDD in a case is a different story.

I understand your point of view...but its the flexibility and software that make this so attractive. The EZ-DUB software removes any guesswork or questions from every possible burning scenario....simply push a button and everything is done for you...from saving files to burning ISO images.
With the storage space on optical media being pretty large (DVD and Dual layer DVD) you can store anything...add in multiple sessions or RW disks and you have a good alternative to storing important data on an external HDD.
I also think that as time passes you might see compatibility with other media sources, as this connects via USB.....maybe you'll be able to use it with an XBOX360 or PS3.....who knows.

If I could somehow hook this up to a TV to record now that would be cool. I can see the use if it will work with gaming systems but it's not something that I would list as a have to have it.
