Yeah, they've been around for a while. I know a photographer that uses those. It's a heck of a waste of money if you ask me. You could buy two $500GB drives for less than that and put them in RAID.

The main aspect of this hard drive though is that its external. You pay for the portability.

You can actually get a hard drive enclosure that will seat four HDDs in RAID. So you could actually have a 2TB partition for just slightly more than that 1TB drive costs.

You can buy several 300gb+ harddrives and enclosers for that kind of money :shock:
