| Well right off the bat, not saying anything else, make sure the "DO NOT COVER THIS" hole is NOT COVERED!!! Past that, I just would advise against it cuz the reading device would be trying to read the disk on top of it instead of staying right side up, I'm not sure just how that would affect anything, but to be safe if I didn't know, I wouldn't do it. |

| Modder-ator | May I ask why you want to install it upside down? As others have mentioned, it shouldn't make a difference. The most important thing is to make sure the drive is level. If it is at an odd angle, it may introduce wobble and cause a crash of the read head (and subsequently drive failure). |

| the reason why is that's my old PC that I use for the net only I have two IDE drives in there one is running at around 40C and the seagate 500 is running at around 58 there were both stacked up in the drive cage wich has space for 2 drives only so I deceided to seperate them one at the top of the cage and one right underneath upside down. At the bottom of the drive cage there's 4 brackets with HDD written upside down (pretty clever I guess) I just wanted to make sure that it wouldn't matter Thanks alot!!!
