| I have a lightscribe drive and have used it plenty... they are of course shades of grey, no color... but I found if you just get the setup right in photoshop and then paste it into the lightscribe program, they comes out fantastic. One thing to remember... the more detail there is, the longer it takes... so some basic text may take 10 minutes but detailed disc top will take over 30 minutes. also if you burn movies, may want to look at this: Newegg.com - Verbatim 4.7GB 16X DVD+R LightScribe 30 Packs Cake Box Disc - Retail ![]() Thanks HL and Corsair! | I am not trying to criticize anyone, it is just my opinion that using LightScribe to label discs is a waste of time (literally). It takes 20-30 minutes to label a single disc. LS also limits labels to 2 colors. Haven't we progressed beyond such limitations? Any disc printer is a more advanced option. Better still, the Dymo DiscPainter prints full color disc labels in only 1 minute. Again, I am not trying to be critical towards anyone. I just don't get the desire to use LightScribe tech. | ||||||||||||||

| The problem with ink type of prints is that even with normal use, fingers and liquids can wash off or smear the ink in a matter of minutes. With lightscribe, it is etched into the top permanently so no smearing or wear and tear. some of the newer lightscribe drives can actually cut the time in half with a type of "lightscribe2" type of faster system... ![]() Thanks HL and Corsair!
