Default How much do you really like your dual monitor setup???

Is it worth it.......Do you (use) the dual monitor a lot or is it just a coolness factor for you.?? I'm on the Internet a lot so I was thinking of getting another BenQ FP91G+.....Like i have now and I'm very pleased with it. I was thinking about getting a 20in ws but its 90 bucks more and I can get the one I have now and am happy with for 210 on newegg.
What is your 2 cents.???????

Dude, after having a pair of widescreens I cannot stand using single screen computers. Even with this setup I find myself lacking realestate. When I've got my buddy-list, 3-4 chat windows, firefox, my P2P, and winamp open, that's it, I'm out of space. I'm seriously considering gettnig a cheap PCI videocard and either adding one of my spare CRTs or getting a 17" LCD for cheap.

To make a long answer short, YES. Once you have it, you'll wonder how you lived without it! :P

Interesting.

I use a DVI KVM, which involves 3 DVI cables, or 300.00 in just cables.

I moved to a dual-monitor setup a few months ago. I stole my girlfriend's LCD and set her up with a 19" CRT that was sitting in the closet.

Oh...my...goodness. I'm with Drew - once you start using dual-monitors, it's very difficult to go back to a single screen setup. I guess it's like a cell phone or other such device, that once you own one, you wonder how you managed without it. It's VERY convenient to have the extra real estate, with a tabbed browser on one screen, and Outlook and IMs running on the other. Or for writing reviews/articles, I'll have Word open on one screen, and my browser on the other. Even for gaming, I can keep an eye on any mail that comes in, or important IMs, such as Rich harrassing me about this or that. :P

Really Cap'n Crunch, if you're considering, then do it. If it was feasible, I'd like to go to three monitors....

Dude, you got jipped if you had to spend $100 per cable for DVI, unless they're like 50' long :P
I've got a boxfull, and the 2-3 I paid for were only about $35.

I like my dual monitor setup. I have Gaim and Winamp on my second monitor while I play CS:S. I also like to watch movies on my second monitor while I'm working. I watched Forrest Gump on it the other day :-)

Ah, I see. Like the GNU joke :-P

I only started working with computers in 2001 (I'm 17.)

This is off-topic, so don't post your answer here, but I'd appreciate a PM. What's the origin of that joke?
