| Hi, I recently built a new system and want to attach a 30" monitor to it. I have a Radeon HD2600PRO video card with 512mb. I have an SLI capable motherboard, an Asus P5N-E. It appears that you have to make 2 connections to the 30" monitors and that you can do that with both connections on one card, is that right? I would like to get another identical card and use the SLI to connect 1 connection on each card to the monitor. Would that be a good move? Thanks, Rob Revolutionary Rob - NYC ![]() ------------------------------------------------------------ (1) Intel Q6600, Asus P5N-E, Radeon HD2600PRO(512mb), 4GB ram, Zalman CNPS9500, Vista Ultimate running 64 bit. | SLI is an Nvidia technology, and you have an ATI card, so you can't run dual cards on that motherboard. You'll need a Crossfire capable (ATI's version of SLI) motherboard to run dual ATI cards. | oh, Oops! Right, of course. So... Would I be better off with any 1 particular powerful card, or to choose 2 new cards of medium power? | No, all you need is a video card that supports dual-link DVI... and yours does. You won't need anything else. - Core 2 Quad Q6600 - DFI Infinity 975X - 4GB Corsair XMS2 w/ DHX DDR2-800 - 250GB Seagate 7200.10RPM + 160GB Hitachi 5400.4RPM - ATi Radeon X1900XT 256MB - Cooler Master Centurion 5 + OCZ StealthXStream 600W - Acer 19" P191W Monitor - Logitech Z-5500 Digital + Logitech MX Revolution - Vista Ultimate x64 |

Atleast for displaying images, that card is going nowhere for gaming at that resolution. ![]() | |

| I have no interest in gaming except for scrabulous.com and I just want it to be without noticeable slowness. | But my main question is not being answered... for 'good' (not gaming) performance, should I really stick with what I have? Also, I am deliberating between the Gateway 30" monitor and a Dell 30" but apparently there is such a performance difference that I will save up for the Gateway.
