Default Does anyone here use an LCD/Tv for there computer.

Just wanted to know your experiences. We have quite a few at work and I was thinking of getting one in the future possibly. I was going to spend the money on a big screen tv but I just don't watch all that much tv.
So I was thinking something between 26 and 32. Yea 32 is on the big side I think 26 would do it.
I haven't seen but a review or 2 on this cuz most are just using them for tv's and I was looking for some people who play games.
I do (mostly) two things on my computer games and what I'm doing right now. And a little bit of music of corse.

Sorry man. I haven't tried doing this before. I've always wanted to though, if you decide to go ahead and do it, don't forget to give us your opinion.

We've had those kinds of setups at work and we use them for a variety of purposes, including gaming. One of the nicest things about using a medium sized (20-32") LCD TV versus a higher resolution LCD monitor is the better set of features, as well as lower price. You get a remote as well as complete TV capability, while still getting a perfect picture from your PC as well. The lower resolutions (compared to large LCD monitors) are also a quasi benifet. Though you do lose some realestate (which sucks if you do photo or video editing), gaming at the native resolution of the screen is more easily achieved. You don't need quite as powerful of a graphics card to run a game at 1366x768 versus 1680x1050 and even up to 2560x1600 on some 30" models. Overall, using a quality LCD TV as a computer monitor is a satisfying experience for most applications.

I've been researching this for the last two months, and have found that the Dells are pretty good bang for the buck.

The 32" Dell (~US$1500) has HDMI inputs, while the 26" (~US$1000) does not. The 32" also has a built in HDTV tuner that the 26" is missing.

I've been looking at the 32" and 37", which have the same features (just different sized panels).

There are some threads over at AVS Forums about the Dells: http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?t=608419
