Default Best Speakers for the Money

I'm in the market for some new speakers. I'm looking at getting a 2.0 or maybe a 2.1 system (no room for a 5.1 system). I'd like to keep it under $100. It should have good bass, as well as the high notes... basically a good all around system.

I was looking at this set, do they seem alright to you guys? Thanks!

I've used the Logitech Z-4's, they're awesome little speakers. Might want to look into the Z2300's though if you somehow need a bit more power, though I was far from not being satisfied with the Z-4's.

If there is a final hour, let's hope for a higher power. One by one, and two by two, I have ammo, what about you?

The Logitech Z-2300s should be what you're looking for. It has tremendous bass capability with the whopping 8" driver and the speakers are THX certified, so you know they're good quality.

And yes, they are good quality.

If 5.1 is a must, drop down to the Logitech X-540s, which can be found well under $100. Still hit very well and have good tonal quality to them, but I'd take the power and THX over 5.1

Logitech Z-2300

That's a bit on the expensive side, looks closer to $150 when it's all set and done (tax and shipping). Maybe something a bit cheaper? (Looking at the Z-4's now).

If you want good bass, you should scratch a 2.0 system off your list right now. I have a higher-end 2.0 system (M-Audio StudioPro 3) and they sound very nice, but definitely lack bass compared to my old entry level Logitech 5.1 system. The Logitech Z-2300 is probably going to be your best bang for the buck system and will probably max your budget. Cheapest I could find was $85.34 + shipping at eWiz...

Yup I have to second Blake. While Blake bought monitors, you'll have a hard time enjoying the bass coming out of any 2.0 system. A sub is a must for pumping bass and that deal over at eWiz doesn't look bad at all (if shipping is decent)

This site TechOnWeb.com has it for $102 shipped... it has over 6K+ positive reviews on PriceGrabber, so I shouldn't be too worried if it's a no-name.

I'm a bit more inclined to buy the simply because they are cheaper. I'm not an audiophile, not even close, all I need is something better than the extremely crappy speakers I have now (I literally got them out of a dumpster).

And, if I get the Z-4's, I have enough money to get a as well.

OK, I found a kickass deal. OK, I beg of you, scrounger up the extra money to buy this system. You will NOT regret it.

Brand spankin' new Logitech Z-5500 500W speaker system.... $146 after rebate... SHIPPED.

JUMP ON THIS. Seriously. Do it... This is cheaper than I got it directly from Logitech ($199 shipped).
