I just bought a 16x about a month and a half ago with LightScribe for?????I think it was $34.00 with free shipping from NewEgg. Can't hardly beat that. It is getting hard to find any 16x drives here in the last couple of weeks for a good price though. | |

| Modder-ator | I've burned several DVD's at 16x or 8x or whatever without any problems. The thing with these fast burners is that there is no media capable of those speeds. 18x media is hard to find, let alone 20x! |

| I just found a spindle of 4X media I stuck away at some point. I'll use that before I buy more so 20X don't mean all that much. |

| I burn a lot of DVD's and some cd's. CD freaks would be a good resource for you to check out. The rule of thumb for good consistent burns is burn at half the recommended speed of the type of Media your burning. Can you burn it at 16X sure should you ![]() Right now right now I have two 100 cake pack of MMC's (rebranded) Verbatim's. There X8 DVD-R's I burn at 4X. ![]() Last edited by Captain Crunch; January 4th, 2007 at 07:47. |

| Always burn at 8x, max speed the drive will support. Used 8x discs, now 16x DVD+R discs from Maxell, never had problems. By never, I mean no errors or coasters EVER! during the past 2.5 years. ![]() || AMD Athlon64 3800+ Venice | Asus A8N5X s939 | OCZ Premier PC3200 Du-Ch 1GB | Sapphire X1600Pro 512MB PCI-e | 1xWD 80Gb & 1xWD 250Gb Sata(s) | Antec SLK3800B Case | Enermax NoiseTaker 485W || |
