Default Windows XP password hacked via Firewire

Quote:
Interviewed in ITRadio's Risky Business podcast, Boileau said the tool, released to the public today, could "unlock locked Windows machines or login without a password ... merely by plugging in your Firewire cable and running a command".
Hack into a Windows PC - no password needed - Security - Technology

Haha, that's great. Firewire has DMA and someone is exploiting it. Clever. :)
Though obviously you need physical access to a computer, which in itself is always a breach in security. I'm not too sure how long the whole process takes, but chances are this can be done behind your back. Don't leave your computers unnatended and disable your Firewire if you don't use it. :P

I never hook up firewire anyways since I never need it or use it so no worries.

Thanks HL and Corsair!
