| Right, so i have been experiencing random freezes, thinking it was a virus or something else, I decided to reinstall windows. And beeing the idiot that i am, on the previous install of windows I partitioned my drive into two seperated partitions. Now i just tried a fresh install thinking that i could simply delete one of the partitions and then all that unpartitioned space would flow into my one C: partition. Each time i pressed D to delete the partition C: it would say something like I cant do that because it has files that need to be used in the installation process. But arent all of those files on the CD? I only have a single partition with 30GB of space and a whole 120 or so of empty drive that is not available to use. So what do i need to do in the installation process to delete EVERYTHING from this most recent install in order to have all of the space on my 160GB hard drive in one area(in other words not partitioning the drive). I want it to be like a fresh install like wheni first put the computer together. So all i have right now is a internet connection. Anyone know how to fix this problem? | Modder-ator | Yeah, I've had to call into Microsoft so many times they must have just put my key on some special list because now I don't have to anymore! ![]() Glad you got the problems sorted out though. What TTPete was probbaly referring to with the floppy drive was probably a little program called "FDisk" that was included on Windows98 install disks. FDisk is a simple Microsoft partitioning application that lets you view and delete partitions on a hard drive and is really only used on floppy disks. I remember ever only having to use it once or twice when I had some HDD's with really messed up partitions or something, otherwise I have always gotten done what I needed to within the Windows XP Installer. |

| Goddamnit, It just froze again, even after a fresh install. Could my computer be overheating? It has been quite hot today and previous days. . . Or could it be too many applications. I had steam downloading CS:S, watchin a video over the net, and i was browsing the web. Other times i was simply before the reinstall of windows i had been just watching a DVD and it froze. . . Right now my temps are 50 C for the CPU and 60 C for the GPU Pentium D 915|EVGA 7050 mATX|OCZ XTC 2GB|XFX 7900GS XT|Hyper Type-R 580W|Qmicra 2 Case Last edited by Mithosphere; July 27th, 2007 at 19:41. |
