My God, I saw this part, and had to laugh!!!

Please wait one hour after uninstalling a previous version of Windows Vista SP1 before installing Windows Vista SP1 RC. The installer service needs to clean up and complete the uninstall prior to installing the RC. Failing to do this can result in installation errors when installing the RC version.

How lame!! Why not just say, it takes that long to get it's act together, and figures out what to do???

Personally, I am not going to worry about it just yet. I got the Microsoft email during the week. I have downloaded and run my share of BETA and RC releases for all sorts of software. Currently the only machine running Vista is my laptop running Vista Ultimate. Things work great.

As can be seen if you have the prior BETA it must be removed prior to the SP1 RC install. Now depending on the changes made between now and the final release of SP1 it is likely that RC1 of SP1 will also need to be uninstalled prior to installing SP1.

I figure since my version of Vista runs just fine and all my applications run fine why bother running the RC? That and in likely 4 months the final release will be out. I just figure in my case it is not worth screwing with.

Just My Take
Ron

Yeah but the standalones are available now (since yesterday actually :P ). so nyah!

As for improvements, it seems a little faster, that's about it. It's probably more secure as well :O

EDIT: The creative control panel was reset to it's default settings btw.
