version 5744. Yep this is the prerelease version of rc1.

If you already have a copy of vista downloaded, you don't need to spend the time to download this version. It will update it self with the windows update whatzit.

Default Well...

I decided to stop being so closed minded about Vista! That was my first and last mistake.

A few weeks ago, I got talked into downloading RC1. I finally agreed that I might want to see what it looks like before they take away the ability to dowload it. It has been sitting here on my desk with the product key every since then.

So this morning after I cut the grass, I though I'd give it a whirl. I disconnected my two Raid volumes and connected my empty Seagate 120gb Sata 1 drive. I put in the vista CD and booted up.

The install started loading and it got to the point where it asked me to click install.....so I did. Within 5 seconds a window came up saying I was missing a driver and needed to load it. It was very nice to tell me I could put in on a floppy ....or a USB......or I could even take out the vista cd and put it in the CD/DVD drive.

BUT THE MORONS DIDN"T BOTHER TO MENTION WHICH DRIVER WAS MISSING!!!!!!!!

So......the Vista CD is in the trash where it has always belonged!!!

That is some funny sh*t jph!!!!!

I know what your talking about man, it is some hard business trying to figure there crap out.

Of course, if you wanted to spend the next hour or so downloading the new build, it has thousands of more drivers included.

Well, I officially reformatted my Vista partition today and installed Fedora Core 5 on it. I'm going to be using that a lot now.
