Default Where do the updates go?

This might sound strange (and trust me, I've already googled and done some looking around at the M$ knowledge base), but this question has to do with Microsoft Updates. Once updates are downloaded and pending installation, where do they go?

I got some updates today and have not installed them yet. A lot of times, I get the dialog box that asks me to do express install or the advanced selective install. But right now, I get the option to install when I hit "Turn off computer" where it prompts me to install updates on shutdown, or "click here to shut down without installing updates".

I want to select what to install. Is there a way to locate the uninstalled updates?

Did this make any sense?

If it's not fixed, then don't broke it!

I'd suggest trying to find out the file name of the update and doing a search for it. AFAIK, Windows stores those files in obscurely named temp folders, like 5443jkh214j141i32f4y321. It could be hard to find without the file name.

I have noticed in the past that it ends up creating a hidden folder on one of my storage drives called "WUTemp" before it gets installed.
