|  What's the word on SP3 for XP? I suppose this has been talked about and forgotten already. I was wondering if SP3 for XP is worth anything yet. Last I had heard about it was that there was a "beta" version of SP3, and that it was probably buggy and not worthwhile. Has that changed?   |

It is expected out sometime this month (April) was the last official word I heard. i have it on an older computer here and it does seem to help older machines but not much difference on newer systems. | The Real Final Word  | Re: What's the word on SP3 for XP? Yep, it is still in the "RC" state. But there was a recent release of the RC version. It is real handy when you do a fresh install, you can download the RC and install it right after doing a fresh windows install, and it really cuts down on the time spent waiting for all of the critical downloads  Here is the link to the download: Download details: Windows XP SP3 RC2 Refresh  |
