What do you rip your music as? In addition to the poll question, what quality do you use if you don't rip your audio with a lossless codec?

I've been using WMA or MP3 in the past, but now that I have discovered FLAC, I am using that.

Why WMA and not another format that you could do more with?

I want them back, but I'm not spending $70 on the recovery software

The reason is using a lose based system WMA has the best sound quality to compression ratio.

Now that being said I am curious about what you mean by do more? It plays on any computer I take it to, plays on all my MP3 players and I can easily edit it, what more is there?

That is true, but even on the junkiest of junk speakers, I can hear all the distortion that low bitrates give out, like that weird faint beeping that low bitrate audio clips seem to give off. Anyways, on lower quality speakers, what better reason to use a higher bitrate

By edit it, I assume you mean with Windows Movie Maker, which I suppose I didn't take into consideration when I said that. But most players don't support WMA. Since yours do, then I guess that answers my question
