Default Vista Performance & Reliability Pack

Its what we've all been waiting for!

Vista Performance and Reliability Pack hits the web prematurely - Engadget

It was available at neowin but they may have taken it down. I know where to get it, but I'm not posting a link here :P However, I have noticed a HUGE improvement in games in vista, I haven't tested DX10 games yet with the patch, but the 2 I have tested it Dirt and Call of Duty 2. I can now play CoD2 at 1680x1050 maxed out with no stuttering or lag what-so-ever, and Dirt and other games not only run about 10-15 FPS higher but also a lot smoother in general, no more deterioration of time. There is also a lot of fixes and stuff in general (speed in vista itself improved a tiny bit but not a whole lot). So when its released be sure to grab it! Unless you get it earlier :bootyshake:

EDIT - I was right :P They took the file off, the article is still there

The only weird things in games I get are like..super glowing yellow colors that are totally out of place, or some lag here and again. Nothing too serious, and the lag was probably from that POS card I was using. The bright radiation colors are annoying though.

Home Premium is awesome by itself, it's already got everything you need...Aero, built in Media Center, all the Vista goodies and headaches. Ultimate is pretty much the Extreme Edition or Ultra of Vista, just there to sell to those that HAVE to have the best of the best. Basically you get Home Premium and Business stuck together, a free Dreamscape fancy moving wallpaper or two, some utilities you'll never use, both 32-bit and 64-bit DVDs if you buy retail, and a pretty box. The only time I'd even consider Ultimate is if your going to be running more then one processor. Home Premium only supports multicore, while Microsoft so nicely only gave Ultimate support for multiple processors.

This pack does not work with 64 bit Vista.
