Question Vista=Millenium??

Is Vista going to be a temporary 'stand-by' OS just like Millenium was? Is it going to be the POS-OS between 2 good ones? I've heard Microsoft is already working on another OS beyond Vista, which makes me think it is possible...

Well, its going to be replaced semi-quickly(from what i've seen, but its no way on the level of suckyness that Millennium). Microsoft have been working on vista for too long for it to suck.

well i hope it doesn't suck as ME, coz i have very bad memories of my ME 3 years ago esp with BSOD... hardware incompatibility and vulnerability to viruses and spyware...

it was just a nightmare experience with Millennium...

LH has a point working on it for the past years it could be possible that it would serve its purpose with not much of problem...

I heard somewhere about Windows' new OS that they started work on last year...

Here's something I found on it via google.

Yeah, a lot of talk has been going on that Vista is a ME type temp solution until Vienna is released......actually, outside of the nice eye candy, Vista actually has almost none of the features that were promised when the OS was first announced

Vista will be replaced quickly, not its going to be leaps and bounds over what windows ME was, first of all about being 14324x less buggier.

Besides they're also working on what comes after the thing that comes after Vista. :P
Vienna AKA Blackcomb should be great, à la XP. =)

this will be the opposite, closed up tighter than an Amish teen...
I used every public Vista/Longhorn beta version up to RC2 and there is no way in hell I will be switching from XP for at least 2-3 years.

Thanks HL and Corsair!

Seriously, I'm just waiting for the day OSX is able to install onto PCs without a hitch. Screw Vista. It has no improvement for me... I might just snag a free copy from my friend though (they just bought a new PC)..
