| T-Rex | Personally I was never a fan of indexing my stuff, with use of Google Desktop search or any other software for that matters. I'm able to organize my stuff without the help of a software and being the performance optimizer I am, running "useless" processes in the background never appealed to me. |

| I partially agree with you. But that's where selective indexing comes in. I find it quite handy to have, let's say, my media (music, movies, and pics) indexed. But I don't use an indexer anymore because they slow down the computer and make a lot of noise lol. The things that I don't like being indexed though, besides system files, are source codes and downloaded files. Source codes have too many names in common from one project to the next and downloaded files usually have very cryptic names and often no icon. But I really like the idea of virtual folders. For starters, it could be used to sort your music by more than one filter. I'd like to find out if it can be used like a symlink too. That'd save space on the hard drive. |

Exactly. My machine is mostly filled by downloaded files and my own projects, so indexing proves to be rather useless for me. All my albums are neatly stored under one folder, and I don't keep alot of movies or pictures. It's nice a feature, just not for everyone. ![]() | |

| Guess I'm a "nub" as I have every intention of switching to vista once it matures. | E8400 @ 4.0GHz | Zalman 9700NT | Maximus II Formula | 4GB OCZ Reaper HPC | GTX260 | Corsair HX-520 | Antec 1200 | NZXT Sentry LX | RAID 0 | Vista x64 Ultimate | | E7200 @ 4.0GHz | Scythe Ninja Cu | P5W DH Deluxe | 2GB Ballistix | 7600GT | Seasonic 550HT | Antec P180B |Vista x64 ultimate | |Optiplex 755 | C2D E2180 | 4GB DDR2 | Radeon 2400 | | Latitude D830 |T7500 | 2GB DDR2 | NVS140 |15.4" | | 20" Dell LCD | 2x 19" Dell LCDs | Logitech Z-2300 | | Dual ISP Gigabit Network | |

| Modder-ator | I was surprised to find out how many people at my work had never even heard of Vista before. And when I mentioned Intel based Macs they looked at me like I had three heads! |
